Michigan Phragmites Management Prioritization Tool: The invasive, non-native variety of Phragmites has become widespread in much of the Great Lakes region, however, funding and other resources necessary for successful management are often limited. Groups trying to manage Phragmites regionally often need to prioritize their efforts to accomplishing management goals and manage successfully in the long-term. The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality has developed a prioritization tool and user guide to help management groups prioritize the treatment and management of invasive Phragmites in Michigan. The prioritization tool uses three categories of criteria . ecological, human values, and feasibility/coordination of treatment . as factors to score and ultimately prioritize invasive Phragmites management.
